Petr Martásek graduated from the Czech Technical University in Prague, Informatics, and he has a postgraduate degree at the University of Economics in Prague. He attended an English language course at the State University of New York in 1990. Before he started working at EGAP he had worked at Czech Television in Prague for four years and in different positions at Investiční a poštovní banka, a. s. for five years. When he left Investiční a poštovní banka, a. s., he started working at Exportní garanční a pojišťovací společnost, a. s. in the sales department as a credit risk insurance officer in 1994. In 1996 he was appointed a head of the department and he has been director of the pre-export loan, investment and guarantee insurance department since 1998. He is not a member of any statutory bodies of other legal entities.
